How It All Began – My First Steps into UI/UX Design

This project marks the very beginning of my journey as a designer. Before tools, trends, or theory, there was curiosity and the Daily UI Challenge gave me the structure I needed to turn that curiosity into practice. Over 100 days, I learned by doing, designing one interface a day. This wasn’t just a challenge. It was how I discovered UI/UX design.

Taking the First Leap

At the time, I didn’t know what made a great user interface. I just knew I wanted to create digital experiences that felt thoughtful and intuitive. The Daily UI Challenge felt like the perfect place to start clear prompts, daily deadlines, and no pressure to be perfect. Just a chance to learn by showing up.

Learning Through Repetition

Every day brought a new design: a signup screen, a weather app, a profile card, an e-commerce layout. Each one was an opportunity to explore color, layout, typography, and functionality. I had no formal background just time, curiosity, and a growing passion. Slowly, things began to click.

Growing as a Designer

These daily prompts helped me:

  • Understand the importance of consistency and hierarchy

  • Develop an eye for spacing, alignment, and balance

  • Experiment with different design styles and aesthetics

  • Build confidence in tools like Figma and Jitter for animations

More importantly, they showed me that design is a process. It’s not about having the perfect idea it's about starting somewhere and improving bit by bit.

The Turning Point

Somewhere between Day 1 and Day 100, I realized: this is what I want to do. UI/UX design wasn’t just a side interest anymore it became something I wanted to pursue seriously. What started as a challenge became a calling.

Looking Back

When I revisit these early designs, I see how far I’ve come but I also see where it all started. The mistakes, the messy layouts, the small wins they’re all part of the journey. And I’m proud of every one of them.

Moving Forward

The Daily UI Challenge gave me the foundation. Since then, I’ve been building on it taking on projects, studying UX principles, and designing with more purpose. But it all started here with 100 small steps that helped me find my path.
